There are two ways to reach the "Send message" page for parents/guardians:
- From the Application List (for an individual student or in bulk)
- From the Application Detail view (for an individual student)
Once you have navigated to the "Send message" page, there are 3 steps to send a message (see below).
1. From the Application List
Once you navigate to the "Applications" List view, you can send a message for either an individual student or multiple students.
Click the box next to the student's name(s), or select all students in the list view, and then click "Send message" from the gray bar that appears at the top:
TIP: You can first apply a filter/search and then select all applications in your search results and send a targeted message to those families (for example, if you want to send a message to all families applying to Kindergarten to let them know about an upcoming open house).
2. From the Application Detail view
You can also send a message from an individual student's Application Detail view. This view can be reached from the Applications List view, by hovering over the application of interest and clicking on the gray bar highlighting the row of the application.
In the Application Detail view, you will see the parent/guardian's contact information on the right hand side. Next to the account log-in (email address or phone number), there is a red message symbol that you can click to reach the "Send message" page.
Steps to Send a Message.
Step 1: Confirm the recipient list. From the "Send message" page, you will also see the list of recipients on the left hand side of the "Send message" page, including their contact information.
Step 2: Edit all three sections of the content.
- Email subject line (by default, it is "Message about your school application")
- Email content
- SMS (limited to 140 characters)
At this time, translated messages are not automatically sent. Please include translations within your email content/SMS as appropriate.
Step 3: Click "Send". Once you have completed all 3 sections, click the red "Send" button to send your communication.
